Carter is getting so much stronger. Everyday now he's kicking and moving my belly from side to side! its so crazy to think about him in there. I wonder what he's thinking or what he's doing??? ive been getting a sense that i might go into labor early. not like tomorrow or anything but before the actuall due date. its how im feeling with my body. Who knows i could be totally wrong but i wasnt wrong about him being a boy and all the dreams ive had about him. anyways this is what it says about 34 weeks along.
Carter is 17 3/4 inches long and 5 pounds! I cant believe how big he is already! how is he fitting in my belly??? lol. Although my belly is very tight and looks like a big bowl now haha. My belly button is very shallow and i swear its getting more shallow every day. its so wierd to see it shrink. i hear it will become flat soon. yikes how wierd.
Your Baby: Your baby should be getting into the head down position now in preparations for labor. Your baby kind of looks like he's coated in a layer of cream cheese these days. The thick, white substance that protects his skin from pruning in the amniotic fluid is called vernix. When he's born you'll probably see some vernix lingering in his "hard-to-reach" places like under his arms and behind his ears . Other news from the womb this week: The soft fur, lanugo, that covered your baby's body for much of his stay in the womb is now almost completely gone. Your baby begins to develop his own immune system, instead of relying solely on antibodies received through the placenta. This will come in handy when some grubby relative manhandles the baby without washing his hands first.
Your Body: You are exhausted from hauling your bod around all day, so why can't you sleep at night? Is it because your bladder keeps crying out to be emptied every 30 minutes? Is it because you haven't been able to find a comfortable sleeping position since week 27? Is it because your mind can't stop making lists of things to do or replaying that shocking video you saw in your birthing classes? Yes, yes, and yes. It might comfort you to know you're not alone. Seventy-five percent of women in their third trimester have trouble sleeping.
